OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's basketball team fell 95-63 to Avila University on Monday night in Wilson Field House.
It was the second quarter that was the downfall for the Braves. After trailing 23-17 at the end of the first quarter, Ottawa was outscored 30-8 in the second and trailed 53-25 at the half.
OU cut into the Avila lead in the third quarter. Two free throws from Katelyn Atatini put the Braves within 20 points, 67-47 with 3:46 left in the third quarter. The Eagles, however, ended the quarter on a 10-0 run, taking a 77-47 lead into the fourth.
The Braves were not able to cut into the Avila lead in the final quarter of play and the Eagles took the 95-63 victory.
