PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team defeated Central Christian College 3-0; 25-10, 25-11, 25-8; on Friday afternoon in its first match of the Park Invitational.
How it Happened
- Ottawa jumped out to a 5-1 lead over Central Christian in set one. A kill by Marko Zolnjan and a Tiger attacking error gave OU a 15-3 lead. Ottawa held CCC in check for the remainder of the set, taking the 25-10 victory.
- The Braves scored the first 10 points of set two. A kill by Horia Filpisan, blocks by Zolnjan and Damitrae Ellis, and a Derrick Hajka service ace gave OU a 16-5 lead. Ottawa held the Tigers to six points for the remainder of the set and OU took the 25-11 victory.
- In set three it was all OU. Ottawa raced out to an 11-3 lead over the Tigers. Central Christian never threatened the OU lead and the Braves took the 25-8 victory.
