Ottawa Women’s Basketball Picked Ninth in KCAC Coaches Poll, 10th in Media Poll

OTTAWA, Kan. — The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) announced its 2025-26 Women's Basketball Preseason Media and Coaches Polls on Wednesday morning. Ottawa University was picked ninth in the coaches poll and 10th in the media poll.

In the coaches poll, the Braves collected 87 points. Evangel University topped the list, earning 161 points and nine of the 14 first-place votes. Friends University followed in second with 147 points and two first-place votes, while Tabor College came in third with 132 points.

Rounding out the coaches poll were: the University of Saint Mary in fourth (123), Bethel College fifth (118), Kansas Wesleyan University sixth (115), Sterling College seventh (99), Bethany College eighth (94), Ottawa University ninth (87), Oklahoma Wesleyan University 10th (58), Avila University 11th (54), York University 12th (40), Southwestern College 13th (25), and McPherson College 14th (21).

The top three in the media poll mirrored the coaches' selections, though in a different order. Tabor was voted first with 123 points and four first-place votes, followed by Friends in second with 121 points, and Evangel in third with 112 points and three first-place votes.

The remainder of the media poll included Kansas Wesleyan in fourth (110), Saint Mary fifth (87), Sterling sixth (82), Bethel seventh (80), Bethany eighth (71), Oklahoma Wesleyan ninth (65), Ottawa 10th (61), Avila 11th (46), York 12th (40), Southwestern 13th (31), and McPherson 14th (21).

The Braves will open the 2025-26 season at home inside Wilson Field House on Friday, Oct. 31, hosting Kansas Christian College. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
