TOPEKA, Kan. - The Ottawa women's bowling team got their first victory of the season as they won the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge over the weekend.

After a 2,683 pin total for sixteen baker games on Sunday, Ottawa qualified for the bracket in second with an overall pinfall of 7,133. There, they beat Baker 3-0 in the quarterfinals, Lindenwood 3-1 in the semifinals, and top-seeded Central Missouri 3-1 in the Championship match to take home the title.

Coach Poston's Thoughts
"Even though we qualified 2nd, we had some unforced errors that we will need to clean up. Those girls never quit fighting. It was fun to see varsity & jv come away with wins!"
