WICHITA, Kan. – The Ottawa University volleyball team turned in a strong all-around performance to earn a 3–1 (25–14, 25–12, 24–26, 25–10) road win over Friends University on Wednesday evening at the Garvey Center.
Set One | Ottawa 25, Friends 14
Ottawa came out firing, jumping ahead 10–3 behind kills from 
Campbell Stark, 
Bailee Nickel, and 
Brittan Lee. Setter 
Madison Holcomb distributed the ball efficiently and served two early aces, while 
Madison Brauner followed with back-to-back aces during a 14–4 run.
Nickel and 
Hollie Peters each tallied multiple kills in the frame, with Ottawa hitting a blistering .500 as a team (17 kills, 4 errors on 26 swings). Lee and Stark combined for six kills, and the Braves never looked back after the opening surge.
Set Two | Ottawa 25, Friends 12
Ottawa continued its offensive dominance, again racing out to a 13–5 lead. Brauner controlled the tempo, racking up assists and another pair of service aces. Nickel and Peters delivered key swings, while 
Samantha Stahl added power from the right side.
The Braves' blocking and back-row defense frustrated Friends, forcing nine Falcon attack errors. Ottawa sealed the set behind another ace from Stahl and a kill by Nickel. OU hit .135 in the set and held Friends to a negative percentage (-.125).
Set Three | Friends 26, Ottawa 24
Friends battled back in the third, capitalizing on several long rallies and service pressure. Ottawa led early, 8–6, behind kills from Nickel and Peters, but the Falcons clawed back with strong play from Gabbie Taylor, who recorded multiple kills and two service aces.
Despite late kills by Peters and Stark, Friends outlasted Ottawa in extra points, 26–24, thanks to Taylor's clutch swings and Charlize Fahland's late ace. The Braves hit .171 for the set with 14 kills on 35 attempts.
Set Four | Ottawa 25, Friends 10
The Braves responded emphatically in the fourth, opening with a 10–1 run fueled by four straight Friends attack errors and an ace from 
Nakhai Biby. Holcomb's setting again spread the offense as five different Braves recorded kills.
Stark and Nickel combined for five kills in the set, while Ottawa's front line dominated at the net—Stark and 
Lillian Holden each tallied multiple blocks. Ottawa hit an efficient .292 and limited Friends to a -.216 mark to close out the match.
