Ottawa won the meeting last season in Springfield, Mo. on Oct. 30, 3-2 (17-25, 25-14, 25-21, 17-25, 15-12), the first match between the two teams in Springfield. The first meeting between the two teams took place on Sept. 15, 1984 in Kansas City, Mo. at the Avila Tournament. The Valor won the match 2-0 (15-7, 15-5).
Evangel University is 21-2 overall, 3-0 in the KCAC, have won 14 straight matches, and have a mark of 3-0 at home this season. The Valor enter Wednesday's match coming off a 3-0 win over non-conference opponent College of the Ozarks.
