STERLING, Kan. - The Ottawa women's soccer team ended their regular season with a win as they came back to beat Sterling by a score of 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Sterling was the first to score, taking their lead in the 34th minute and going into halftime with that 1-0 lead. Riley Smith tied the game up for Ottawa in the 72nd minute, and Peyton Hack gave the road team the lead in the 83rd minute. Reece Young scored an 89th minute insurance goal assisted by Peyton Hack to secure the win.
Ottawa led total shots 18 to seven and shots on goal six to four. Makena Tapia made three saves in the second half for the win, Te'a Newcomb played in goal for the first half.
Ottawa finishes the regular season with a 5-7-5 overall record and a 4-5-4 KCAC record. They await their KCAC Tournament fate which is dependent on other games being played in the conference today.
