OTTAWA, Kan. – The #12 Ottawa University women's wrestling team will be hosting the (RV) Baker University Wildcats on Thursday in Wilson Field House. The Ottawa wrestling teams will be hosting a canned food drive before the duals, donate five canned items to be entered in a chance to win a gift card.
The Ottawa Open is now named the Hinderliter Open, in honor of longtime employees,
Kathy Hinderliter and
Randy Hinderliter.
Aysnley Fink placed second overall in the 103lb weight division and went 3-1 on the day.
Daityn Webb came in sixth in the 110lb weight class.
Addison Saporito won the 117lb weight division and won all four of her matches.
Shae Salinas went 4-2 to secure fourth place in the 117lb weight division.
Peyton Hand earned another second place in the 124lb weight class, Hand went 3-1.
Krista Howland went 2-2 in the 131lb weight division to get fourth.
Aileen Lester won four matches, including an 8-0 decision in the 138lb weight division to place third.
Kaitlyn Thorn went 4-1 to place third in the 145lb weight class and
Livia Swift won five matches to get fourth in the 145lb also. In the 180lb weight division,
Ciera Hutton-Spieker placed second,
Siara Arrington earned third and
KyLee Lindsley got fifth.
Faith Spicer secured second place in the 207lb weight class and won two matches, while
Kena Leonard earned third place in the 207lb after going 3-1.
Ottawa is 3-2 all time against Baker. Ottawa picked up the win in 2024 against Baker, 29-16. In 2024,
Peyton Hand won the match on a technical fall over Zoey Freeman in the 124lb weight division.
Livia Swift secured a fall win against Audrey Darnell in the 138lb weight division.
Kaydence Bonewell defeated Hailee Crosland on a technical fall in the 145lb weight class.
Darby Weidl won by fall over Sophia Yorko in the 160lb weight division. In the 207lb weight class,
Hannah Jackson pinned Nevaeh Wardlow.
