OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa men's soccer continues their NAIA Tournament campaign with a final site game against (11) WVU Tech.
  • Ottawa is 15-1-6 on the season and 10-0-3 in KCAC play.
  • The Braves are coming off a 1-0 win over (6) Lindsey Wilson on Saturday in Columbia, Kentucky.
  • In that game, Alonso Basauri found Jevan Purcell-Jackson for the game's only goal in the 84th minute. David Martinez made three saves in goal en route to his second consecutive clean sheet.

  • WVU Tech comes into this contest with a 17-0-2 overall record and a 9-0-0 record in the River States Conference.
  • The Bears are coming off a 4-3 overtime win at home over Madonna in the NAIA Opening Round on November 22. This marked the first time they conceded more than two goals in 2025.
  • WVY Tech is unbeaten all season, and are riding a fifteen game winning streak. This ties for the longest winning streak not just in the NAIA, but all of college men's soccer, which they share with (2) Oklahoma Wesleyan. The Bears and the Eagles are the only two remaining unbeaten teams in the NAIA Tournament field.
  • Julen Recalde is WVU Tech's leading goalscorer with thirteen, while Gonzalo Sabeh leads the Bears in assists with nine.

  • Ottawa has never played against a team from the River States Conference, and WVU has never matched up against a KCAC squad.
  • Ottawa last played a team from West Virginia in 1971, when they lost 0-2 to Davis & Elkins in the NAIA Tournament semifinals. Davis & Elkins is the only team from the Mountain State that Ottawa has played, also falling to them in the 1969 NAIA National Tournament, 0-1.
  • WVU Tech played a team from Kansas on August 25, 2022, when they beat Baker 2-1 at the Rio Grande Classic.
  • Ottawa is 15-0-3 in games where they have scored at least one goal.
  • The Braves are 13-0-1 when they have scored at least two goals.
  • Ottawa is 8-0-2 in shutouts, and 5-0-3 when allowing just one goal.
  • Ottawa is 2-1-0 in neutral site games and is 8-2-3 away from home.
  • WVU Tech has not played a neutral site game this season but is 6-0-0 on the road.
  • Alonso Basauri's nineteen assists puts him second in the NAIA in that category, and first among active teams.
  • Ottawa is playing in their fifth NAIA National Tournament and their second in three years.
  • The Braves are 7-5-0 in NAIA Tournament games, but are just 3-5-0 in games with the championship still to play for.
  • Ottawa's most successful appearance before this season came in 1971, beating Newark College 2-1 in the quarterfinals before dropping their semifinal game to Davis & Elkins 0-2. The Braves rebounded with a 1-0 win over Westmont in the third-place game.
  • The Braves have won two games in the NAIA Tournament this season, which is the most non-consolation wins in program history.
  • Ottawa is once again making their furthest trip east this season, eclipsing their journey to Columbia, Kentucky for the NAIA Opening Round.
  • WVU Tech will travel southwest for their journey.
  • Ottawa has never played a game in Alabama in program history, nor has WVU Tech since at most recent the 2010 season.
