OTTAWA, KAN. - The Ottawa men's bowling team put on a dominant performance as they won the Columbia Cougar Clash this weekend.

Ottawa began the tournament with a 4,048 total for four team games, putting them in second after the first day of competition. Kenji London and Justin Weddige made the All-Tournament Team in fourth and fifth place, respectively with 864 and 841 totals for four games each. The Braves posted a 3,051 pinfall for 16 baker games on Sunday, bringing their overall total to 7,099 pins and qualifying them for the matchplay bracket in second place. There, they beat Iowa Western 2-0 in the semifinals and Avila 2-1 in the championship to bring home the title.

Coach Poston's Thoughts
"The men are really starting to hit their stride after a fairly slow start to the season. I was happy with all the guys for understanding the importance of building some momentum going into Vegas. Mission accomplished this weekend."

Coach Maida's Thoughts
"This weekend was very solid start to finish. This was a great tournament to continue to build momentum towards our next 2 tournaments in Las Vegas. The communication and trust in one and other is growing to new heights with each tournament, and has lead us to back to back tournaments making the finals. Super happy with the performance from all 3 men's teams this weekend, and highly anticipating 2nd semester when all 3 teams get back on the lanes together again."

Up Next
The Ottawa bowling teams continue their season in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational from December 18-19 and Collegiate Shoot-Out from December 20-21. Both tournaments will be held at the South Point Bowling Plaza.
