nd in the OU record book in digs in a four set match and he is tied for fifth in digs in a match.
How it Happened
- Ottawa took a 6-4 lead over Mount Mercy in set one. A service ace by Leo Betin gave the Braves a 10-6 lead over the Mustangs. OU increased its lead to 16-12 on a kill by Petar Lazic. MMU rallied and cut the Brave lead to 22-21. A kill by Leo Betin gave OU a 23-21 lead. Ottawa earned set point on a block by Akeil Williams and Macort Pickup, 24-21. The Mustangs scored the next point to put themselves within 24-22. Ottawa took the set on a Williams' kill, taking the 25-22 victory.
- MMU opened set two with a 6-3 lead over the Braves. The Mustangs went on a 4-1 run, taking a 10-4 lead. Ottawa scored the next four points, cutting the deficit to 10-8 on a kill by Betin. Mount Mercy responded by increasing its lead to 14-9. The Braves were unable to rally and MMU took the 25-18 victory.
- OU fell behind 5-2 to MMU at the start of set three. Ottawa rallied and after a block by Williams and Marton Zarka, OU tied the set at eight apiece. The Mustangs answered with a 4-1 run, retaking the lead 12-9. Ottawa was unable to respond and MMU took the 25-19 victory.
- Mount Mercy opened set four on an 8-3 run. Ottawa chipped away at the Mustang lead and was able to get within three, 24-21. OU was not able to complete the comeback and MMU took the 25-21 victory.
