Adrian, MICH. - The Ottawa men's lacrosse team opened their season with a loss as they were defeated by (RV) Siena Heights by a score of 4-22 on Thursday evening.
Siena Heights started the game with a flurry of goals, leading 8-0 after the first quarter. The Saints scored the first two goals in the second frame before
Braydon Francis and
Mark Spells scored back to back goals to nullify them. The score going into halftime was 12-3 in favor of Siena Heights. The Saints continued their dominance in the second half, using 4-1 and 6-0 third and fourth quarters to extend their lead.

Mark Spells led Ottawa with two goals each. Spells made one assist.
Dylan Murano made 17 saves in the cage for his collegiate debut. The Braves were 15-27 in clear attempts, and caused 24 turnovers.
Ottawa (0-1, 0-0 HAAC) returns to the field on Saturday, March 1 at (8) Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. That game is scheduled to begin at 2 PM EST/1 PM EST.
