Women's Flag Football is on the Road at Saint Mary on Monday

The Braves defeated William Woods University 48-0 last Saturday at AdentHealth Field. Ottawa has now won 15 straight games, dating back to the 2024 season. OU's last loss wsa on March 28, 2024 in Salina, Kan. The Coyotes won the game 18-13.

In the win over William Woods University on Saturday, Ottawa had 275 yards of offense, negative nine yards rushing and 284 yards passing. William Woods had 92 yards passing and negative six yards rushing for a total of 86 yards of offense. Madysen Carrera was 14-for-19 through the air for 220 yards and five touchdowns, all in the first half. Marley Spielberg had eight receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns. Alyssa Linkous finished the game with four receptions for 87 yards and three touchdowns. Taliyah McInnis had five flag pulls to lead the Braves. Susann Kaufmann, Keiarra Nixon, and Dejonice Parris finished the game with four flag pulls apiece. Kaufmann and Nixon had a sack and Parris finished with an interception.

The OU offense is averaging 297.7 yards of offense per game, 20.7 yards rushing and 277 yards passing. The Braves are scoring 36 points per game. The Ottawa defense is only allowing 3.0 points per game and 155.6 yards of offense. Opponents are rushing for 21.3 yards per game and throwing for 134.3 yards per game.

Madysen Carrera leads the Braves in passing. She is 118-149 through the air for 1,323 yards and 25 touchdowns. Carrera is averaging 220.5 passing yards per game. Alyssa Linkous leads the team in receptions with 32. She also leads the Braves in receiving yards with 495. Linkous has nine touchdown receptions. She is averaging 82.5 receiving yards per game. Jukanie Washington is OU's leader in flag pulls with 25. She has two interceptions and five pass break ups. Dejonice Parris is right behind Washington with 24 flag pulls. She has one sack, one interception and two pass break ups. Cynthia Homs has 21 flag pulls and four pass break ups.

Monday night is the eighth game between Ottawa University and the University of Saint Mary. OU leads the series, 7-0, and has a record of 3-0 against the Spires in Leavenworth. The Braves won both games last season, defeating USM 34-0 in Leavenworth on Feb. 27 and 65-0 in Ottawa on April 6.  The very first game between the two teams happened on April 2, 2021. Ottawa won the game 48-0. In the seven previous meetings, the Spires have only scored a total of 19 points. Ottawa has shut out Saint Mary in four straight games.

Ottawa is ranked second in the NAIA in total points (216), fourth in points per game (36.0), second in total offense (1,786), third in yards per game (297.7), second in passing yards (1,662), third in passing yards per game (277.0), second in passing yards per attempt (8.4), seventh in rushing yards (124), sixth in rushing attempts (30), 11th in rushing yards per game (20.7), second in first downs (66), second in rushing first downs (11), second in passing first downs (54) first in first downs per game (11.0), second in third down conversion percentage (.440), second in fourth down conversion percentage (.690), first in PATs (21), third in PAT percentage (.677), first in red zone scores (23-30), and third in red zone percentage (.770).

The University of Saint Mary has an overall record of 2-1 and is 1-1 in the KCAC. The Spires enter Monday's game coming off a 41-7 victory over Bethel College on Saturday afternoon in Leavenworth.

In the win over Bethel, the Spires had 210 yards of offense while holding the Threshers to 75 yards. Anayah Hooks was 7-for-12 through the air for 114 yards and three touchdowns. Brooklin Hill and Bralei Criss finished the game with four receptions apiece. Hill led USM with 58 receiving yards. Criss finished the game with two touchdown receptions. Demi Hylton led USM in flag pulls with nine. She had four sacks and one pass break up. London Reed and Sa'Niyah Glover had four flag pulls apiece. Glover had three sacks.

Anayah Hook leads the Spires in passing. She is 7-for-12 through the air for 114 yards and three touchdowns. Brooklin Hill and Bralei Criss lead the team in receptions with four apiece. Demi Hylton leads the team in flag pulls iwth nine. She has four sacks and one pass break up. Sa'Niya Glover has four flag pulls and three sacks. T'liyah Wright leads the team in interceptions with one.
