Women's Flag Football Shuts Out Milligan, 40-0

Box Score RIVERSIDE, Mo. – The Ottawa University women's flag football team earned its 13th shutout of the season, defeating Milligan University 40-0 in its final game of pool play at the NAIA Women's Flag Football Finals on Tuesday morning.

Ottawa's defense forced a punt and the Braves took over on its four yard line. Three plays later, they had the lead. Madysen Carrera threw a 59 yard touchdown pass to Alyssa Linkous. The Carrera extra point was good and OU led 7-0.

OU's defense gave the Braves back the ball with a Mya Quinn interception and OU had the ball on its own seven yard line.

Eight plays and 73 yards later, the Braves were in the end zone for a second time. Addison Orsborn ran the ball in from six yards out and OU had a 13-0 lead at the start of the second quarter.
Neither team scored for the rest of the half and Ottawa led 13-0 at the half.

Ottawa received the ball to start the second half, putting together an eight play, 66 yard drive. Carrera threw an eight yard touchdown pass to Jazlyn Camacho. The Carrera extra point attempt was good and the Braves lead 20-0.

It only took one play by Milligan before OU's offense had the ball back. S'Naya Glover intercepted the pass that was broken up by Quinn and returned the ball to the MU 19 yard line. Six plays later, Carrera threw a touchdown pass to Camacho. The extra point attempt was good and the Braves led 27-0.

Ottawa's defense forced a second straight interception. Glover picked the MU quarterback at the Buffalo 25 yard line and returned the ball to the five. Just one play was all it took for the Braves to extend their lead. Carrera ran the ball in from five yards out, giving OU a 33-0 lead.

The Brave defense forced another MU punt and OU's offense took over on its own 19 yard line. Ottawa increased its lead with a nine play, 61 yard scoring drive that ended on a six yard Carrera scramble. Her extra point attempt was good and the Braves took the lead and the game, 40-0.
