Men's Soccer to Host Central Methodist to Open 2025

OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa men's soccer team begins their 2025 campaign at home as they host Central Methodist.
  • The Braves are coming off a 10-8-3 which featured a 7-3-3 KCAC record and a third place conference finish.
  • Ottawa returns 13 players who saw varsity action last season, including eight double-digit game starters and four All-KCAC players.
  • Ottawa adds to those 13 with 12 newcomers, which is made up of eight freshmen, one graduate student, and three transfers.
  • The Braves' opponent is Central Methodist, who is coming off a 9-6-3 season. The Eagles finished 3-6-2 in Heart Conference play, missing their first conference tournament since 2014. 
  • Central Methodist returns Second Team All-Heart selection Niccolo Cabras.
  • This will be the 18th meeting all time between the two teams, with Central Methodist leading the series 9-7-1. Ottawa and Central Methodist last played in 2015, with the Eagles taking the 2-0 win.
  • Ottawa is searching for their first win over Central Methodist since 2009.
  • The Braves are also looking for their first win in a season opener since 2018.
  • This is the first of four games played against Heart of America Athletic Conference opponents for Ottawa with season. After Central Methodist, the Braves take on Missouri Baptist, (2) William Penn, and Grand View, before finishing their non-conference slate at GPAC opponent Midland.
