Ottawa University Golf Program Continues National Leadership in Folds of Honor Fundraising

OTTAWA, Kan. — Ottawa University's golf program continues to make a national impact off the course, earning recognition as one of the top fundraising teams in the country for Folds of Honor, an organization dedicated to providing educational scholarships to the families of fallen or disabled military service members.

During the 2024–25 academic year, Ottawa University golf finished as the No. 1 fundraising team in the nation, leading all participating programs in support of the Folds of Honor mission. The Braves have continued that momentum into the 2025–26 season, currently sitting second nationally in total funds raised.

The Ottawa men's and women's golf teams have consistently demonstrated their commitment through several key fundraising initiatives, highlighted by the Honor Bag Program. Through this initiative, student-athletes carry specially branded golf bags throughout the season, each representing a fallen or disabled service member. At the conclusion of the season, the bags are auctioned or used as fundraising tools to directly support scholarships for local students connected to military families.

"Our program believes strongly in serving something bigger than ourselves," said head golf coach Jeff Tadtman. "Folds of Honor gives our student-athletes the opportunity to understand the sacrifice made by military families while using the game of golf to make a real difference. I couldn't be more proud of how our teams have embraced this mission year after year."

In addition to the Honor Bag Program, Ottawa utilizes the PledgeIt fundraising platform, allowing supporters, alumni, and community members to contribute directly to the Braves' efforts. Donations are collected through a dedicated campaign page, with funds going toward scholarships that provide educational opportunities for families who have served the nation.

Folds of Honor also supports fundraising through golf-centered events, offering resources for tournaments and other initiatives that align naturally with the sport. These events play a vital role in expanding awareness while generating meaningful financial support for scholarship recipients.
