PARKVILLE, Mo. — Ottawa University men's volleyball opened the 2026 season with a strong performance on Friday afternoon, defeating Jamestown University in four sets (22–25, 25–22, 28–26, 25–13).

Set 1 – Jamestown 25, Ottawa 22
The opening set featured several early lead changes as both teams settled in offensively. Ottawa stayed within striking distance behind kills from
Macort Pickup and
Petar Lazic, but Jamestown used a late run to pull ahead. Despite a late push by the Braves, Jamestown closed the set at 25–22 to take a 1–0 lead
Set 2 – Ottawa 25, Jamestown 22
Ottawa responded quickly in the second set, building momentum behind a strong stretch from
Marko Zolnjan and
Damitrae Ellis. The Braves used a 7–2 run midway through the set to gain separation and held off a Jamestown rally late to even the match at one set apiece with a 25–22 win .
Set 3 – Ottawa 28, Jamestown 26
The third set turned into the most competitive frame of the match. Jamestown briefly held the advantage late, but Ottawa answered with key points from Leo Bettin and Pickup to force extra points. The Braves showed composure down the stretch, scoring the final two points to claim the set 28–26 and take a 2–1 match lead .
Set 4 – Ottawa 25, Jamestown 13
Ottawa carried its momentum into the fourth set, jumping out to an early lead and never looking back. Strong serving pressure and consistent blocking limited Jamestown's offensive rhythm. The Braves dominated the final set, closing the match with a decisive 25–13 victory to seal the 3–1 win .
