Men's Volleyball Falls in Five to Oakland City

OTTAWA, Kan. — The Ottawa men's volleyball team pushed Oakland City University to the limit Saturday afternoon at the Mabee Center, but the Mighty Oaks escaped with a 3–2 victory (18-25, 25-23, 27-25, 20-25, 15-8) in a tightly contested non-conference match.

Set 1 – Ottawa 25, Oakland City 18
Ottawa set the tone early, hitting .478 in the opening frame while controlling the net defensively. The Braves built a steady lead and closed the set with consistent side-out play to grab the early advantage.

Set 2 – Oakland City 25, Ottawa 23
The second set swung back and forth with multiple momentum shifts. Oakland City capitalized on late Ottawa attack errors and edged ahead down the stretch to even the match.

Set 3 – Oakland City 27, Ottawa 25
