PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Ottawa University men's volleyball team fell 3-1; 26-24, 19-25, 21-25, 22-25; to no. 3 Park University on Tuesday night.
How It Happened
The Braves showed no fear early. Trailing 23-20 in Set 1, Ottawa closed on a 6-1 run, highlighted by a block from
Petar Lazic and
Kadeem Morris and a service ace during the decisive stretch to seal a 26-24 win.
Park responded with its most efficient set of the night in Set 2 (.560 hitting), but Ottawa stayed within striking distance behind steady sideout offense from
Marko Zolnjan and Lazic.
Set 3 featured 10 ties as the Braves clawed back from an early 8-4 deficit to tie it at 15-15 before Park pulled away late.
In the fourth, Ottawa again surged ahead 9-5 and later 15-14 after a Zolnjan ace. The Braves were within 23-22 late, but the Pirates closed it out with a kill and a service ace.
