Elwell and Gorring Will Wrestle at the NAIA National Wrestling Championships

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – (Qualifiers by Weight Class | Qualifiers by Institution | Qualifiers by Conference) The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has officially announced the qualifiers for the 2026 NAIA Wrestling National Championships hosted by Visit Wichita at Heartland Credit Union Arena in Park City, Kan. The 69th edition of the annual event will take place with six sessions across three days. The action begins on Thursday, March 5, and concludes on Saturday, March 7th.

Stevie Elwell and Julian Gorring earned a spot to the NAIA Wrestling National Championships. Elwell earned an Automatic bid and Gorring picked up an At-Large Bid.

After the conference tournaments concluded, a 16-member national selection committee consisting of two representatives from each conference met to select the remaining national at-large qualifiers. In total, there were 70 at-large qualifiers. The seeding and preliminary brackets will be announced on NAIA.org by 5 p.m. (CST) on Friday, February 27.
Grand View (Iowa), Indiana Tech, Life (Ga.), Southeastern (Fla.), Cumberlands (Ky.) and Southern Oregon are all bringing 12 student-athletes to Wichita to compete for a national title. Providence (Mont.), Marian (Ind.) and Oklahoma City are each bringing 11. In total across the ten weight classes, 320 wrestlers were selected to compete for a chance at being named a national champion in their respective weight class.

The Cascade Collegiate Conference has the most national qualifiers with 60, while the Heart of America Conference follows close behind with 59.
