OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's flag football team swept the KCAC Player of the Week awards for the second time this season.
Alyssa Linkous and
Dejonice Parris have been named KCAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the week.
Parris, a linebacker from Hollywood, Fla, was named KCAC Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week. She had 10 flag pulls, three flag pulls for loss, two sacks, and two pass break ups. In the win over (4) Baker University, Parris had five flag pulls, two sacks, and one pass break up. She had five flag pulls, one flag pull for loss and one pass break up in OU's victory over (RV) Graceland University.
Linkous, a center from Owings, Md., earned KCAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. In two games last week, she had 13 receptions for 181 yards and three touchdowns. Linkous averaged 90.5 receiving yards per game in wins over no. 4 Baker University and nationally ranked Graceland University. In the win over Baker, she had seven receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. Against Graceland, Linkous had six receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
Ottawa (6-0, 4-0) returns to the field on Friday, March 20 against Cottey College at AdventHealth Field. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
