OTTAWA, Kan. - The Ottawa women's lacrosse team won their first game of the season as they beat Mount Mercy by a score of 26-0 on Saturday evening at AdventHealth Field.
Ottawa scored 10, six, five, and five goals in each quarter all while holding Mount Mercy scoreless.
Rilee Barnett led Ottawa with six goals, Brianna Valadao scored five. Makayla Mason scored four goals, Curstin Brown and Faith Ruoff scored three each. Ashlyn Lopez and KaiAnna Senne scored two each, Liv Staberg scored one. Barnett and Senne made four assists each, Valadao and Staberg made two each. Mason and Ruoff made one assist each. Saniya Watt made four saves en route to a shutout and her first collegiate win in goal. This shutout is the fourth in program history for Ottawa and the first since 2024.
Ottawa (1-7, 1-1 HAAC) returns to the field on Saturday, April 4 as they travel to Davenport, Iowa for a road game at St. Ambrose University. That game is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM.
