OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University men's lacrosse team fell 25-3 to Clarke University at AdventHealth Field on Saturday afternoon.
How It Happened
Clarke jumped out to a quick start, scoring five goals in the opening quarter. Ottawa's defense, anchored by goalkeeper
Dylan Murano, held firm at times with multiple early saves to keep the Braves within reach.
Ottawa broke through in the second quarter as
Antonio Bell got the Braves on the board with an unassisted goal at the 14:57 mark. Later in the period, Ottawa capitalized on a man-up opportunity when
Rylin Huber found the back of the net off an assist from
Riley Daniel, cutting into the deficit and showing offensive life.
The Braves continued to battle in the second half despite Clarke's offensive surge. Ottawa's final goal came in the fourth quarter when Bell struck again, finishing off a feed from
Ashton Buckalew to cap off a strong individual performance.
Defensively, Murano turned in a gritty effort in net, recording
25 saves while facing heavy pressure throughout the contest.
