Ottawa looks to shake off a tough midweek loss on Saturday as they wrap up a three-match road swing at Tabor College. Kickoff for the match is set for 5 p.m.

The Matchup

The Braves and Bluejays have met 31 times since 1996, and only recently has the series become competitive. Tabor was victorious in the 2025 meeting between the teams, breaking an four-match unbeaten streak by Ottawa, albeit with three of those matches finishing in regular-time draws. The Braves advanced on penalties during the 2023 KCAC Tournament, following a 0-0 draw and a 2-1 win during the regular season. The only time Ottawa has lost in consecutive seasons to Tabor was in 1999 and 2000.

Last Time Out

Ottawa saw its three-match winning streak interrupted by no. 15 Oklahoma Wesleyan on Wednesday night. The Braves mustered four shots on goal over 90 minutes, but weren't able to find net.

About Tabor College

The Bluejays come into Saturday's match on a two-game winning streak, with shutout wins over University of Saint Mary (3-0) and Bethel (2-0) to their credit. Tabor sits level with Ottawa in the KCAC standings with a 2-1 record, although the Bluejays have a better overall record on the season at 3-3-2.

Outside of their past two matches, however, Tabor has struggled offensively, with just seven goals on the season led by Haven Deckinger's three. The senior adds an assist for seven points on the season, with Haley Rogers (2 g) and Annaliese Weins (2 a) the only other multiple contributors to the scoresheet for the Bluejays.

Leading the platoon in goal for Tabor is Neve Mulrooney, who has posted a 0.50 goals-against average in 360:00 across four starts on the season. Maria Saavedra Mejia has three starts for the Bluejays with a 0.59 average in 152:06, while Addyson Lomax rounds out the group with a 1.30 GAA in 207:54 spread across three appearances with just one start.

Welcome (Back) Home

After playing the past several seasons at AdventHealth Field, Ottawa returns to the Dick Peters Sports Complex for the 2026 season.

"We are excited to be returning home to Dick Peters Sports Complex," said head coach James Cottage. "Playing on a soccer specific field, a field that is longer and wider, it will really match what we're trying to achieve. We want to play with fast wingers that can get into one on one opportunities, but this field will help defenders as well."

In addition to the benefits for the team, the fan experience is also expected to be improved with the move to Peters.

"With the move, fans can be closer to the field and really get up close and be that extra bit of support for our team," added Cottage. "I want to make it feel like a home, a place where teams look at it and go 'Oh, we've got to go to Ottawa. We have to play on that big field and it's going to be a mess.' That's what we're looking for."
