High School: Monroy lettered in volleyball, softball, and powerlifting at Hillsboro High School. She was part of the National Honor Society and Student Council. Monroy was a two-time Second Team All-District selection, earned Academic All-State and All-District honors, and qualified three times for regional powerlifting. She also played for a national championship.

Personal: Daughter of Edith Monroy and Alberto Monroy, Jr. … biology major. Monroy played club for Waco Lightning for coach Kylie Davenport.
