Biography

2024 Indoor: Redshirt

High School: Smith was involved in multiple sports and earned many accolades during her tenure at Baldwin High School. She started on the varsity soccer team and was named to the Lawrence-Journal World All-Area Honorable Mention team in 2019. She was part of the Baldwin Bulldogs' Frontier Championship in 2019, was a Second Team All-Frontier League Selection and a Second Team All-State Selection. In 2021, Smith was a varsity captain for the Bulldogs. Also in 2021, she was a First Team All-Frontier League selection and First Soccer Team All Lawrence-Journal World selection. Smith's teammates voted her Most Valuable Offensive Player and Most Outstanding Player. She was a First Team All-State Selection in 2021 as well. Wrapping up her career in 2022, she was voted a varsity team captain once again and a KSHAA Top 15 Soccer Player to Look For.

She also ran cross country and track for the Bulldogs. Smith placed in all four years at the State Cross Country meet, during her junior year she placed fifth. In 2018, she was a Lawrence-Journal World Honorable Mention Cross Country Runner. Smith responded in her final three years by being named a Lawrence-Journal World All-Area Runner.  At Baldwin, Smith was part of a 4A Cross Country Championship in 2018, Runner-Up in 2019, 4A Championship in 2020 and Runner-Up in 2021. In track, she was part of the 4X800 meter relay that were Regional Champions and 4A State Champions. Smith was named First Track Team All Lawrence-Journal World.

Smith also excelled on the basketball court as she was Baldwin High School Freshman MVP in 2019. She was All Lawrence-Journal World Honorable Mention in 2020. Baldwin was the 4A State Champions in 2020, which Smith was part of. In 2021, she earned First Team All Lawrence-Journal World. Also in 2021, she received many accolades as she was a First Team All-Frontier League Selection, selected as Children's Mercy Hospital 810 Player of the Week, Top Gun All-Tournament Team, Most Valuable player of the BHS team, Second Team All-State Sports in Kansas, Honorable Mention All-State Topeka Capital Journal and Wichita Eagle. She was a part of the KBCA All-Academic Team and KBCA Honorable Mention All-State Team. In Smith's senior year, she was part of the Top Gun All-Academic Team and Top Gun All-Tournament Team. She also earned Frontier League All-First Team Honors, KBCA All-State Selection, Wichita Eagle and Topeka Capital Journal All-State Selection. Her teammates voted her MVP in her final season as a Bulldog.

Personal: Daughter of Kelley Bethell-Smith and Tess Smith ... biology major. She has many ties to Ottawa University as her mother and father attended OU. Her uncle, Ian Evans, aunt, Kaci Evans, aunt, Katie Davis and cousin Hannah Thomas also attended Ottawa University as well.
