ELIGIBILITY
All Ottawa University student-athletes listed on the institutional roster and who have signed the institutional consent form shall be subject to drug testing under the terms of this policy. This includes, but is not limited to, student-athletes who are certified eligible participants, “red-shirting”, academically ineligible, or injured. All student-athletes shall be subject to the terms of this policy not only during the academic year, but throughout the calendar year including all break periods.
The Ottawa University Substance Abuse Program is a rollover program. A student-athlete's time clock begins upon the first day of arrival at Ottawa University and continues until completion of tenure, athletic or academic, at Ottawa University. Academic re-admit students will be handled in the same manner, regardless of the amount of time elapsed during the absence. Release from a sport does not stop a student-athlete's clock. In the event an athlete transfers into another sport, the tenure will be considered a single athletic team from the original participation tenure.
