SANCTION FOR LEGAL VIOLATIONS

The Athletic Department will enforce the sanctions set forth in this policy for any student-athlete upon conviction or plea of guilty or no contest to any of the following substance abuse related legal issues.
• Driving under the influence (DUI/DWI) or other motor vehicle violations involving alcohol or drugs;
• Public intoxication;
• Drunk and disorderly conduct;
• Other violations of local, state or federal laws involving alcohol or drugs, including possession;
• Other violations of local, state, or federal law involving alcohol or drugs and acts of violence; or
• Minor in Possession.
Upon arrest for any of the above substance abuse related legal issues, the student-athlete will be immediately suspended from competition until the legal process is complete. Once completed, the student-athlete must provide all legal documentation regarding the outcome of the case to the coach, Director of Athletics, Dean of Students, and Director of Student Life and Substance Education Testing Coordinator.
