REFERRALS TO COUNSELING AND REHABILITATIVE SERVICES
When counseling services for the purpose of assessment and/or treatment are required, the student-athlete must make contact with the professional counselor within 48 hours of the official notification of a positive test. The professional counselor will set-up an appointment to meet with the student-athlete ideally within five (5) business days of contact from the student-athlete to begin the process. The student-athlete will be required to sign a release of information to allow communication between the professional counselor and the athletic department. Failure by the student-athlete to meaningfully participate in the evaluation/counseling process as defined by the professional counselor will be considered as a second offense.
It is the responsibility of the student-athlete who makes an appointment with the professional counselor to keep that appointment.
