Coach Dippel is in his first season as an assistant coach with the OU men’s basketball program.
Dippel spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach with the men’s basketball program at the University of Saint Mary. While at USM he helped with day-to-day operations, scouted for the Spires, assisted with recruiting, and helped with player development. Dippel was also a basketball instructor with Midwest Elite Basketball.
Prior to that, Dippel spent one year as a social studies teacher at Southern Cloud High School in Glasco, Kan. While at SCHS, he was an assistant football and basketball coach and was the freshman class sponsor.
Dippel is no stranger to Ottawa University. He was a four year letterman on the basketball court for the Braves. Dippel also earned two letters in tennis. He made his mark in the OU men’s basketball record book. Dippel is ranked in the career top 10 in scoring (1,354), field goals attempted (1,149), and 3-pt field goals made (254).
On the tennis court, Dippel is ranked in the career top 10 in singles wins, singles winning percentage, no. 2 singles wins, no. 3 singles wins, career doubles wins, and career doubles winning percentage.
Dippel graduated from Ottawa University with a bachelor of science in history and from the University of Saint Mary with a masters of arts in education with concentration in adult education.
