High School: Shamaila participated in Karate from 2009 to 2017, Soccer from 2009 to 2019, Swimming from 2007 to 2018, Cricket from 2016 to 2019, tennis from 2014 to 2016,and mountain biking from 2016 to 2018. He  was on the karate national championship podium in 2014,2015,2016, and 2017. Shamaila was the African champion bronze medalist in 2016, made it to the regional swimming podium in 2018 and was a Basketball National team trial finalist in 2019.

Personal: Son of Mokganedi Gawanas and Garneth Shamaila … computer science and cybersecurity major. In 2016 Shamaila completed the fish river canyon hike, hiking the largest canyon in Africa as well as completing the desert dash as part of his school’s round square program. In 2015 he joined my school choir and competed in an international choir competition in 2016 in South Africa.
