Coach Solberg is in his first season as a graduate assistant with the OU men’s basketball program.
Before coming to OU, Solberg spent a year as an assistant coach at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa. At CU he helped the program to the fifth most wins in program history during the 2012-13 season. Solberg helped with the day-to-day operations of the program and did individual training with the student athletes. He helped with recruiting, was an academic advisor, did film exchange, and did the player and team scouting reports.
Prior to coaching at CU, Solberg was the head junior varsity coach and an assistant at the varsity level at Black Hawk High School in South Wayne, Wis. From September 2008 to August 2012, he helped BHHS to three conference championships. Solberg scouted and helped develop practice plans for the varsity team. He also worked with the student athletes to develop their game and helped BHHS to a 23-2 record. While at BHHS, Solberg also was an assistant with the girl’s basketball team. He was the lead assistant coach and helped the team to a conference and regional championship.
Solberg was a camp coach at the University of Wisconsin Basketball Camps, a camp coach at the Brandon Jennings Pro Camp, was the director of the Better Basketball Elite Basketball Camp, and was a camp coach at the Clarke University Elite Camp, the Snow Valley Basketball School, and the University of Minnesota Basketball Camps.
Solberg graduated in December of 2012 from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in physical education and a minor in health education and marketing with an emphasis in coaching. He was a member of the Dean’s List and has his physical education certificate. Solberg is getting his masters in educational technology from Ottawa University.
