2023: Spells started all 13 games he appeared  in as a short stick defensive midfielder. He led the team with 21 caused turnovers, and was second with 53 groundballs. Earned 1st-Team All-KCAC recognition. 

2022: Appeared in 14 games making 11 starts as a short stick defensive midfielder.  He contributed on four goals, scoring one shorthanded goal on the season. Spells was ranked fourth and fifth on the team in groundballs and caused turnovers, scooping up 37 groundballs and causing eight turnovers. 

2021: FIRST TEAM ALL-KCAC... One of only three sophomores to earn First Team All-KCAC distinctions. Made 12 appearances and had seven starts. He was 13th in the conference in caused turnovers (13), and 18th in caused turnovers per game (1.08). Spells scored three goals on 10 shots and added an assist.  He tied for sixth in the conference for ground balls with 55, second at Ottawa next to teammate Jacob Vincentini. Spells also finished in the top 15 in ground balls per game, averaging 4.58.

2020: In a shortened freshman season, Spells played in all five games for the Braves. He had 17 ground balls and won 10 face offs.

High School: Spells lettered in lacrosse and played for championship teams in baseball and basketball while at Round Rock High School.

Personal: Son of Dorcas Moore and Daniel Spells ... sports medicine major. In his free time, Spells enjoys movies, music, and watching sports. His brother John Spells was a member of the OU men’s soccer team, earning All-KCAC honors at goalkeeper in 2019.
