Coach Maya is in his first season as a student assistant coach with the OU men's soccer program.

Maya was a two year letterman for the Braves, twice earning All-KCAC honors at goalkeeper. In his two years at OU, Maya appeared in 38 games, playing in 3432:57 minutes, tallying 185 saves, he had a 1.65 GAA, and finished his career with a 11-13-2 overall record with eight shutouts. He finished the year ranked 41st in the NAIA in total saves.

Before transfering to OU, Maya played two years at Rio Hondo College. He helped them to the 2013 Foothill Conference Championship. He was named Football Conference Player of the Year and was Rio Hondo Men’s Soccer MVP in 2013. In 2013 Maya had 11 shutouts, only allowed one goal in Foothill Conference play, appeared and started in 23 games, played in 2,070 minutes, and had a Goals Against Average of 0.87.
