Biography

2020-21: Competing at the Ottawa Challenge, Tran qualified for nationals. He placed second in the 120kg weight class, finishing with a total kilograms of 596. Tran had a personal best mark of 242.5kg in squat, 125kg on bench, and 227.5kg on deadlift. He finished first in the men's teen 120kg weight class at the Star City Showdown. Tran hit new marks in squat, bench, and deadlift in total weight. He broke his previous personal best by a total of 30kg. At the USA Powerlifting Collegiate Nationals, Tran squatted 262.5kg for a 12.5kg PR, he bench pressed 140kg for a7.5kg PR, and deadlifted 242.5kg for a 10kg PR. His marks added up to a total of 645kg and a PR of 30kg.

High School: Tran lettered in powerlifting and football at L.D. Bell High School. He was a two-time regional qualifier and a state tournament participant in powerlifting. On the football field, Tran was a First Team All-District selection at guard, was twice named Academic All-District, and earned Second Team Academic All-State. He earned the 2019 Burlsworth Character Award.
