Darius Johnson enters his second year as an assistant coach for the OU track & field program.
Johnson is the current track & field coach at Ottawa High School, where he has been since 2019. He also has been an assistant coach for the Ottawa High School wrestling team and Ottawa Middle School track and cross country teams. Johnson has a diverse work history outside of athletics, with experience in logistics and youth care.
Johnson graduated from Ottawa High School in 2007 and received a Bachelor of Arts at Pittsburg State University in 2012, with a concentration in General Studies and a minor in Social Work. Johnson has numerous accolades as a sprinter in the 400m and 4X400m relays during his college career at PSU. He was three-year captain and 11 time All-MIAA Conference Qualifier. In 2010 he was a NCAA DII All-American with PSU’s distance medley relay team.
