Coach Deutsch is in her second season as head coach of the OU softball program. She has been part of the OU softball program since 2022.
- Has an overall coaching record of 31-21 and is 19-7 in the KCAC
- Coached one NAIA All-American, one NFCA All-American, one KCAC Player of the Year, One KCAC Gold Glove selection, and six All-KCAC recipient.
- First coach in program history to win 30 or more games in their first season.
She helped the 2022 and 2023 teams to a KCAC regular season championship and the 2022, 2023, and 2024 teams to an NAIA Opening Round appearance. Deutsch has coached 27 All-KCAC performers, five KCAC Gold Glove selections, one KCAC Pitcher of the Year, and one KCAC Newcomer of the Year.
Before coming to Ottawa University, Deutsch spent four years as a member of the McPherson softball program. In 2021, she was named NFCA Player of the Year, First Team NFCA All-Region, First Team NFCA All-American, CoSIDA Academic All-American, CoSIDA Academic All-District, NAIA First Team All-American, KCAC Co-Player of the Year, First Team All-KCAC, Light and Life Student Leader of the Year. Deutsch was a McPherson College Presidential Scholar and earned the 2020 Life and Light Good Neighbor Award.
She finished her Bulldog career with .392 (.519 in 2021) batting average, a .618 slugging percentage, and a .464 on base percentage. Deutsch had 194 hits 53 doubles, one triple, and 19 home runs.
While at McPherson, Deutsch was the Assistant to the Director of Student Life, was a Lead Resident Assistant, a Resident Assistant, an Academic Community Essentials (ACE) mentor, and was a Student Mentor at Lincoln Elementary School in McPherson, Kan.
She coordinated events such as The Color Run and the International Womxn’s Day Celebration. Deutsch was also involved with Pre-Health Professionals Club, Tri-Beta Biological Honors Society, Gamma Beta Phi National Honors and Service Society, Rotaract Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Deutsch also volunteered within the McPherson community, helping with stop the bleed kits, the Carter Blood Drive, the Love Chloe Kickball Tournament, the McPherson Animal Shelter, the Halloween Carnival, campus beautification, diploma wrapping, Family Day registration table, St. Joe’s Grandparents Day, McPherson College Power Day, the first aid station at homecoming, Sidewalk Chalk for Alzheimer’s Awareness, food drives for the local bank, Hitting League, Personal Energy Transportation, and Operation Christmas packing.
Deutsch graduated from McPherson College in May of 2021. She graduated with a bachelor of science in biology with a minor in chemistry. Deutsch earned her MBA from Ottawa University in May of 2023.
