Biography

2020-21: Burris completed a successful junior season by playing in 23 games with an average of 186.13. She had three Top 10 finishes, made two All-Tournament teams and earned first team All-Conference honors. Burris finished 10th with a pin total of 717 and an average of 179.25 through four team games at the Mustang Invitational. At the Bronco Open, Burris made the All-Tournament team by placing fifth with a pin total of 802 and an average of 200.5 through four team games. Burris won the Jayhawk Collegiate Challenge I, she finished first overall and made the All-Tournament team with a pin total of 878 and an average of 219.5 through four team games.

2019-20: Burris played in 48 games as a sophomore. She played in 24 Tier 2 Event games and 24 Tier 1 Event games. Burris finished the year with an 8534 pin total and a 177.7 average. She had a 179.3 average and a 4304 pin total in Tier 1 Event games. Burris finished Tier 2 Event games with a pin total of 4230 and a 176.2 average. She had a career high 1447 pin total at the Las Vegas Invitational and a career high 189.2 average at the Hoosier Classic. Burris was named a NCBCA Scholar Athlete.

2018-19: In her freshman season, Burris played in 34 games. She played in 13 Tier 1 games and 21 Tier 2 games. Burris finished the season with a pin total of 5985 and a 176 average. She was a 2018-19 NCBCA Collegiate Scholar Athlete. Burris had a season high pin total of 1224 at the Andy B’s Team Challenge. She had a season high average of 188.333 at the Hoosier Classic.

High School: Burris lettered in bowling, band, and gymnastics at Shawnee Mission Northwest High School. She helped lead her team to a 2017 Regional Championship, a 2017 District Championship, and a 2016 Sunflower League Runner-Up finish. Burris was named 2017 Sunflower League Bowler of the Year, earned First Team All-Sunflower League honors, and was a Second Team All-State selection. She finished second in the 2017 Regional Championships, was second at the Lawrence Free State Invitational, finished first at the 2016 Sunflower League Individual Champion, placed fifth at the 2016 regionals championships, finished fourth at the 2016 district championships, was fourth at the 2015 regional championships, was a district runner-up in 2015, and helped SMNW to a 2015 second place finish in the Sunflower League.

Personal: Daughter of Carol and Steve Burris ... education major. She has been bowling since she was five years old and is the first SMNW student to earn a bowling scholarship.
