Candice Fabry

  • Fourth season as head coach of the OU women's soccer program.
  • Has an overall and OU coaching record of 15-22-18 and a KCAC mark of 15-9-14
  • Coached 15 All-KCAC performers, 21 Daktroinc Scholar Athletes, 19 KCAC Scholar Athletes, and 10 CSC Academic All-District Team.
  • Was one of five individua ls who presented Letters of Commendation from the United Soccer Coaches at the 83rd annual convention in Kansas City, Mo.
Fabry has coached soccer for over 20 years across various levels and ages. She holds a U.S. Soccer A-Senior License, a U.S. Soccer Coach Educator License. She is currently a member of the U.S. Soccer SheChampions Advisory Board, which works to create mentorship programming for female coaches in the game of soccer. Candice has served as an Olympic Development Program (ODP) Head Coach in multiple states, including Kansas, Iowa, and Ohio, and for the Midwest Regional teams since 2006. 
 
In 2023, Fabry was one of five individuals awarded a Letters of Commendation from the United Soccer Coaches at the 83rd Annual Convention in Kansas City, Mo. for her work in speaking out about the sexual assault she and other women endured from her college coach in The Guardian. Candice was also invited to be a speaker and panel member at the United Soccer Coaches Conventions in 2022 and 2023.
 
A staunch advocate of safe environments in sports, Candice has taken her voice to print with an article she wrote in 2022 for The Guardian about the fallout from the multiple abuse allegations within the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Fabry is active in advocacy education spaces through her podcast, Unbreakable & Fearless, hosting Coffee & Progress panels for the Women in Soccer network, and being a member of The Sports Bra Project Advisory Board. Candice is a U.S. Soccer Coaching Facilitator and enjoys the numerous opportunities to facilitate coed and all-female courses in Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Illinois every year.

Fabry came to OU after serving as Associate Head Coach for the Kansas City Courage soccer team, a professional amateur women's soccer team. Candice and her staff led the team to two consecutive division championships in the 2022 and 2023 campaigns. The Courage has produced players that compete within several professional leagues across the globe, including the domestic leagues of the NWSL and USL-Super League.
 
In 2021, Fabry created Fearless & Capable, a female-led coaching and mentoring program that aims to strengthen the mental fortitude of athletes and coaches she works with through impactful frameworks and mental performance coaching. 
 
Fabry attended and was a member of the University of Toledo Women's Soccer program from 2003-2006. In 2006, her final playing season at Toledo before medically retiring due to a back injury, Candice played an integral part in taking the program to win its first-ever MAC Tournament Championship and earning its first birth to the NCAA Division I Women's Championship. In that season, she was recognized as an All-MAC Tournament team member. Fabry then earned her Bachelor of Arts in History in August 2007, before joining the Toledo Women's Soccer coaching staff for the 2007 season. 
 
Also, Fabry earned her Master of Science in Sport, Recreation, and Tourism Management from the University of Illinois-Champaign in 2013. She has previously earned the U.S Soccer Grassroots Instructor License and US Youth Soccer Youth National License.
 
Coach Fabry resides in Kansas City with her husband, Paul, and two children, Berkley and Chelsea.
