Coach Burrell is in his first season as a graduate assistant with OU women's soccer program. He spent the 2023-24 season as a graduate assistant with the OU athletic performance staff.
Before coming to Ottawa, Burrell was an assistant fitness manager and personal trainer at Genesis Health Club. He worked with clients of all ages and varying levels of wellness. Before working at Genesis, Burrell was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Baker University.
While at Baker, Burrell worked alongside coach Josh Kock in running and programming training for a wide variety of nationally ranked teams. He took responsibility in leading recovery days for teams the day following athletic competition.
Burrell was also an assistant coach with the NorCal Olympic Development Program before his time at Baker University. He ran practice sessions and helped specifically with recovery and conditioning before and after the games.
He has earned a FA Level 1 Award in soccer coaching, is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, a certified GroupEX Instructor, and is currently undergoing his CSCS – Strength and Conditioning certification.
Burrell attended College of the Siskiyous where he was on the Dean’s and President’s Lists as well as a member of the soccer team. He was named his team MVP in 2019. Burrell graduated from College of the Siskiyous with an associates degree in communications. He was a member of the men’s soccer team at Baker University where he was also on the President’s and Dean’s List. Burrell graduated from BU in 2022 with a degree in exercise science and kinesiology.
Burrell is working on his MBA from OU with a concentration in sports business.
