Coach Tharps is in her second season as a student assistant coach with the OU women’s volleyball program.

Tharps was a four year letterman on the volleyball court for the Braves. Tharps was a three-time NAIA All-American, earning Third team honors in 2021 and 2020 and Second Team honors in 2019. She was a four-time AVCA All-West Central Region selection. Tharps was a two-time KCAC Player of the Year selection and earned was named First Team All-KCAC four times. She was named KCAC Attacker of the Week eight times. She finished her career first in the OU record book in kills (1,728), third in kills per set (3.4), third in solo blocks (88), third in block assists (289), and third in blocks (377).

Tharps was a coach for Mid-America Volleyball in Kansas City (MAVS) from November 2019 to July 2021. She planned and organized practices and taught skills and techniques. During that time, Tharps also coached at High Performance Volleyball Club in St. Louis, Mo. (HPSTL).

Tharps was also a volunteer at Show Me Volleyball Academy/High Performance, the Ottawa University Volleyball Camps, and did an athletic training internship with the OU sports medicine department.

Tharps is finishing her degree in exercise science with a concentration in allied health.
