Coach Westman is in her first season as a graduate assistant coach with the Ottawa University women’s wrestling program.
Westman has excelled in women’s wrestling. She was a 2016 Olympic Trials Wrestling participant, a two-time Olympic Trials qualifier, a three-time WCWA All-American, a two-time Senior National All-American, a three-time University Nationals All-American, a three-time Wrestling World Team Trails participant, a three-time FILA Junior Body Bar Nationals All-American, a 2014 Junior Pan American Bronze Medalist, a 2013 Dennis Becker Memorial Award Winner, a three-time Fargo Nationals All-American, she finished 10th at FILA Cadet Worlds, was a 2012 High School Freestyle National Champion, earned High School First Team All-American honors, was a 2011 FILA Cadet Body Bar National Champion, was named to the 2011 High School Freestyle Nationals and Duals All-Tournament Team, was the 2011 High School Freestyle National Runner-up, and was a two-time FILA Cadet Body Bar National All-American.
Before coming to OU, Westman participated in women’s wrestling at the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, N.D. Westman has coached for the Jamestown Women’s Wrestling Summer Camp in 2016, 2014, and 2013. She was a clinician at the Kane Smith Wrestling Camp in 2013, was a Olympic Training Center Camp participant from 2008 to 2013 and was a Salamanca Youth Wrestling Coach from 2006 to 2012.
Westman graduated from the University of Jamestown in May of 2017 with her degree in health and fitness administration with an emphasis in coaching. She is working on getting her MBA with a focus in population health management from Ottawa University
