Brandon Bedell

Bedell is in his first season as an Assistant Athletic Director.

From 2012 to 2024 Bedell served as Assistant Athletic Director of Game Operations and Administration. In his new role, he will assist with the day-to-day administration of the athletic department while supporting the university's commitment to providing an outstanding experience for student-athletes, coaches, and fans.

In addition to his work in athletic administration, Bedell spent eight seasons as an assistant coach with the Ottawa University women's basketball program. During his tenure on the sidelines, he helped coach 18 All-KCAC selections and one NAIA All-American while assisting the Braves to an appearance in the 2015-16 KCAC Women's Basketball Tournament Championship Game.

Prior to arriving at Ottawa University, Bedell served as an intern with the Long Beach State University women's basketball program. While at Long Beach State, he maintained the recruiting database, coordinated video exchange, coded game film, instructed the scout team, assisted with team and elite camps, kept statistics, prepared the gym for practice, and helped coordinate team travel itineraries.

While working at Long Beach State, Bedell was also an assistant varsity boys basketball coach at El Toro High School in Lake Forest, Calif. He previously served as the varsity girls basketball head coach at El Toro High School.

Bedell also has experience at the junior college level, serving as an assistant coach at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Calif., from 2005 to 2006. His responsibilities included assisting with practice and game management, recruiting prospective student-athletes, and overseeing guard development.

In addition, Bedell served as the varsity girls basketball head coach at Mission Viejo High School from 1999 to 2002 and again from 2003 to 2005.

He earned a Master of Arts in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University in 2012 after completing his Bachelor of Arts in History at California State University, Fullerton.
