Coach Valles is in his second season as a graduate assistant coach with the Ottawa University football program, working with the Braves' defensive backs.
Valles joined the Ottawa coaching staff after a standout playing career at the University of Redlands, where he competed in the secondary from 2020 to 2025. Recruited as a strong safety, he started for a season and a half before transitioning to cornerback to meet the team's needs.
During his career, Valles helped lead Redlands to the 2021 SCIAC Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Playoffs. He played in 31 career games, finishing with 103 tackles, five tackles for loss, 10 pass breakups, four interceptions, and one forced fumble. He was also named his team's Defensive Back of the Year.
As a graduate assistant at Ottawa, Valles assists in the development of the Braves' defensive backs through position-specific instruction, film study, practice preparation, and game planning. His responsibilities also include opponent scouting, recruiting prospective student-athletes, and supporting the overall success of the football program.
A native of Oceanside, California, Valles earned a bachelor's degree in sustainable business with minors in psychology and business administration from the University of Redlands.
