Joe Compton is in his second year as the graduate assistant with the Sports Information Office at Ottawa University. He is covering the cross country, soccer, bowling, esports, lacrosse, and track & field teams on campus in the 2024-25 school year.
Compton graduated from Baker University with a degree in accounting, and was a four year member of the Men’s Bowling team and a three year member of the esports team.
Compton has worked with the Baldwin City Blues collegiate summer baseball team in a variety of positions for the past three summers and offseasons. Those positions include public address announcing, social media, graphics creation, play-by-play broadcasting, and marketing. Compton also worked with the Mid-Plains League in 2023 as the Director of Communication and Social Relations.
Compton is the creator and main contributor to the Kansas High School Athletics Wiki. The website houses information and scores from every high school sport across the state of Kansas. Compton also coordinates the Kansas High School Soccer Coaches Association Poll, which is distributed through the Wiki.
Prior to college, Compton graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School and was a member of the bowling team.
