Coach Vilanova is in her first season as a graduate assistant coach with the OU women’s soccer program.
Vilanova recently completed her undergraduate degree in exercise science at Hastings College, where she distinguished herself as a dedicated student-athlete. She was a two-time All-GPAC performer and was named to the All-Academic Team. In the classroom, she earned recognition for her academic success, balancing the demands of her studies with a standout collegiate athletic career.
Beyond athletics, she demonstrated her commitment to service and leadership, engaging in campus activities and mentoring younger teammates to ensure their growth and development.
Vilanova also gained professional and leadership experience in roles that complemented her academic and athletic pursuits. She was involved in fitness and performance training, applied sports science, and team support initiatives that showcased her ability to connect with and motivate student-athletes.
In her new role as graduate assistant, Vilanova will pursue her master’s degree while continuing to grow in her coaching career. Her unique combination of international experience, academic preparation, and leadership skills positions her to make an immediate impact on Ottawa University Athletics.
Vilanova is earning her MBA with a concentration in sports business from Ottawa University.
