Michael Maida

Coach Maida is in his sixth season as the assistant coach for the OU men’s and women’s bowling program.

In his previous five seasons, Maida has helped the OU women's team to two NAIA National Tournament appearances (2023-24, 2022-23), finishing eighth in 2023-24. He has coached two KCAC Players of the Year, one KCAC Newcomer of the Year, 16 All-KCAC performers, 10 team tournament championships, six individual tournament champions, and helped the Braves to three USBC post season appearances. He has helped the men's team to five USBC post season appearances, a NAIA Final 4 appearance, a ITC Tournament appearance, five tournament championships. Maida has coached 17 All-Conference performers, one All-American, and one KCAC Player of the Year selection.

Maida has an impressive resume, not only as a coach, but also as a player. Maida has earned two conference championships, three state appearances in three years and two state trophies in back-to-back years in his coaching career.

He was a collegiate bowler at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa. At Clarke, he was named team captain for the Pride bowling team. Maida was a two-time national championship qualifier, charting 7th- and 14th-place finishes. He had a Top-10 finish at the NAIA Championships, while also being a Warhawk champion, Oshkosh champion and a Conference Champion. Also at Clarke, Maida had three All-Tournament team finishes. Maida has been prestigious in his personal bowling life as well, having scored 300 a total of 13 times with a high series of 785.
