Coach Wheeler is in his second season as an assistant coach with the Ottawa University football program and his first season serving as the Braves’ Offensive Coordinator. He brings more than 11 years of coaching experience at multiple levels of football, including collegiate programs and high school programs in both Northern and Southern California.
Wheeler has extensive experience on both sides of the ball, including five seasons as an offensive play caller and one season directing a defense. His background also includes serving as a collegiate Pass Game Coordinator and Video Coordinator, while coaching the offensive line and overseeing run game and recruiting operations.
Prior to arriving at Ottawa, Wheeler was part of a 2024 Big South-OVC Conference Championship program that advanced to the FCS Playoffs. Known for his disciplined leadership and detail-oriented approach, he is committed to building successful programs through innovative coaching, player development, game planning, and recruiting.
