HILLSBORO, Kan. – The Ottawa University football team fell 24-19 to Tabor College on Saturday afternoon at Reimer Field.
Tabor took the early lead over the Braves with 54 seconds to go in the first quarter. TC's Nathan Heilig connected on a 23 yard field goal to give the Bluejays a 3-0 lead.
The Bluejays extended their lead over the Braves at the 9:35 mark in the second quarter with a one yard touchdown run by Gustavo Villare. The extra point attempt was good and Tabor had a 10-0.
Ottawa cut into the Tabor lead with 46 seconds left in the half.

Lewis McMullen's extra point attempt was true and Ottawa trailed 10-7 at the half.
In the third quarter, Tabor pushed its lead to 17-7 over the Braves. Villare threw a 26 yard touchdown pass to Deonte Hill. Ottawa answered with a 15 play, 60 yard drive that ended in a Maples 16 yard touchdown pass to
Isaac Gibson. The extra point kick was no good and with 21 seconds left in the third, OU was down 17-13.
It was not until the 2:23 mark that a team found the end zone in the fourth quarter. Tabor scored on a four yard Jarien Allen run and after the extra point kick, led 24-13. The Braves quickly answered, cutting the deficit to five points with 48 seconds on the clock. Maples threw a 33 yard touchdown to
Anterrio White. OU went for two but it was no good and OU was down 24-19.
Ottawa attempted an onside kick. The ball bounced high off the ground and sailed out of bounds. Tabor ran out the clock, taking the 24-19 victory.
