OTTAWA, Kan. – The Ottawa University women's soccer team returns to AdventHealth Field on Saturday, hosting the Friends Falcons at 1 p.m.
Ottawa has only lost one of their last nine games, but five of those resulted in ties. The Braves are coming off back-to-back ties against Bethany and Bethel in their last two matches.
The Braves overcame a 2-0 halftime defecit against Bethel in their last match, scoring two goals in the second half tie 2-2.
Reighna Werner scored her first goal of the season with a long range rocket from thirty yards out to get the Braves on the board.
Carolina Jennerwein scored her fourth goal of the season to get the Braves level in the 2-2 draw.
Braves' goalkeeper
Willow Good had two shutouts last week in the matches against York and Bethany. The performances earned Good KCAC Defensive Player of the Week. The two shutouts bring Good's goals-against average down to 1.26 per game, which ranks fourth in the KCAC.
Friends had a tough matchup against No. 7 Oklahoma Wesleyan in their last game. Despite the 4-0 loss to the Eagles, it was the closest scoring margin against OKWU in the KCAC so far this season. The Falcons are led on offense by Keily Larosee, who has seven goals on the season.
Ottawa owns a 12-5-1 series record over the Falcons, but it's the Falcons that have had the advantage as of late. Friends has four wins and a draw in the last five games against OU, including a 2-0 win in last years' match.
Up Next: The Braves head to Winfield, Kan. next Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match on the road at Southwestern.
